In the opposite shift, Palas Atena students choose between dance, soccer, capoeira, music and chess. Those who want to compete join the olympiad teams and come back to school in the parallel shift.

What extracurricular activities does Palas Atena offer?

There are five: dance, soccer, capoeira, music and chess. They happen outside the timetable and students choose whether to take part.

There is more going on at school, and each thing has its place. Judo, ballet, street dance, the creative lab and the toy library belong to the Tempo Integral full-day program, with a set time in the afternoon routine. Music and chess appear in both. Robotics is EduMaker, a program of its own. What follows are the activities students take up by choice, in the opposite shift.

Dance

A celebration of the body and the art of movement. Students explore styles from classical to contemporary while building coordination, discipline and self-expression.

Soccer

A love of sport is part of the culture at Palas Atena. Students sharpen more than physical skills: they learn teamwork, leadership and fair play. It is more than a game, it is a lesson for life.

Capoeira

A fusion of dance, music and martial art. Beyond the movements, students dive into the history and tradition of this part of Brazilian culture.

Music

Students explore instruments, music theory and even composition. Through music they build creativity, sensitivity and an ear for the art of sound.

Chess

An intellectual challenge that sharpens strategic thinking and focus, with a logic that carries into many areas of life.

Olympiad teams

Students who want to compete come back in the parallel shift

The school competes in academic olympiads with students from the first cycle of Fundamental through Ensino Médio. To prepare, they form teams and come back to school in the parallel shift for study sessions, research and coaching.
